ABB D1M DIN-rail power meters measure electrical quantities in distribution systems. D1M 15 supports basic multifunction monitoring; D1M 20 adds power-quality measurements. Use the complete order code to distinguish communication and I/O requirements.
D1M 15 & D1M 20: Measurement and Communication
D1M 15 has an LED display and two digital outputs. D1M 20 has an LCD display, two digital inputs and two digital outputs, with THD, individual harmonics up to the 40th and unbalance measurements. Both use a three-module DIN-rail format. Wired communication is version-specific: D1M 15 is offered without a wired protocol or with Modbus RTU; D1M 20 has separate Modbus RTU and Ethernet Modbus TCP/IP ordering references.
Current Transformers & Installation Checks
D1M current measurement requires external current transformers with 1 A or 5 A secondary inputs; it is not a direct-connected current meter. Confirm CT ratios, wiring system, auxiliary supply, communication protocol and required I/O against the exact meter documentation before selection. Do not assume a D1M 20 Ethernet and a D1M 20 Modbus use the same network connection.
