ABB metering current transformers and Rogowski coils support measurement where the circuit current cannot be connected directly to the selected instrument. Conventional current transformers and Rogowski inputs use different measurement arrangements. Identify both the sensor and meter before preparing an enquiry.
CTA, CT1M, TRFM & Rogowski Measurement
The documented current-transformer range includes wound-primary CTA, solid-core CT1M, split-core CT1M-S and CT1M-C, and modular TRFM references. The selected ordering references below have 5 A secondary outputs. Primary rating, aperture, burden and accuracy depend on the exact reference. Rogowski coils are a separate measurement option: ABB documents R4M coils for dedicated M4M Rogowski versions; they must not be treated as a conventional 5 A transformer or assumed compatible with every M4M analyzer.
Match the Complete Measurement Chain
Confirm primary/secondary ratio, instrument input, rated burden, accuracy requirement, conductor or busbar dimensions and mounting space. Solid-core and split-core arrangements have different installation requirements. An openable sensor does not itself authorize installation on an energized circuit. For Rogowski enquiries, provide the complete analyzer version, coil designation, conductor dimensions and cable requirements. Similar ratings do not establish an interchangeable sensor or replacement.
