ABB S300P Miniature Circuit Breakers

S300P Product Range

The reference list covers S300P miniature circuit breakers: S301P (1P), S302P (2P), S303P (3P) and S304P (4P). S301P…NA and S303P…NA are the 1+N and 3+N configurations. Confirm the complete designation, including the suffix; these configurations must not be treated as identical.

Technical Overview & Selection Notes

• Trip characteristics and current ranges: B: 6–63 A; C, D and Z: 0.5–63 A; K: 0.2–63 A. These are series ranges; check the exact model and available configuration.
• IEC ratings: IEC/EN 60947-2 and IEC/EN 60898-1 use different short-circuit ratings (Icu and Icn). Compare ratings at the stated voltage, current and pole configuration; a single kA value does not describe every application.
• UL boundary: ABB lists S300P as a UL1077 supplementary protector. Do not treat a UL1077 rating as UL489 branch-circuit approval or combine it with an IEC rating.
• AC/DC applications: Check the voltage, pole connection and applicable rating in the exact product documentation. Do not apply an AC rating to a DC circuit.

For example, ABB identifies S301P-C16 / 2CDS381001R0164 as a 1-pole, C-characteristic, 16 A device, with Icu 25 kA at 240 V AC. This example is not a universal rating for the reference list.

Choosing a Specific Model

Confirm the required poles and neutral arrangement, rated current, trip characteristic, AC/DC supply, operating voltage, prospective short-circuit current and applicable standard. Installation conditions and required accessories also need checking. Current rating alone is not enough to select a breaker.

Browse the MCB product category or MCB Accessories for related references. Accessory suitability must be checked for the exact breaker and accessory code.
